Delicious, amazing, fresh, earthy, natural, deep, refined

I bought this as an I Love you gift for my man, and he's not even an aftershave kind of guy. I smelled this on my fraghead friend and thought it was very warm and alluring, so I thought why not and ordered it for him. To my delight he LOVES IT! It's difficult for me to describe this note by note because on his skin it melded together so perfectly! All I can say it was a symphony rather than a solo act. It started out with a dry yet fresh smell, like when I used to dry my own herbs. Very clean and smooth, but not at all aquatic, if that makes any sense. The warm, beautiful woody notes came out pretty quickly, and the best way I can describe them is if you went to a lumber yard and smelled the edge of the saw blade immediately after the woodcut was made. It's a beautiful smoky, resin/birch tar, fresh wood smell, and the closer I get to his neck where he sprays it I get this beautiful ambery note. These perfumes are extremely well composed and blended, good projection and silage, and they are like nothing else out there! I have two of my own S.O.W. perfumes, Plum in congac and Oak in Oak, which I was able to try when I bought the first subscription box. I should add that in all 12 of the scents I received, there was not one that I wouldn't wear proudly every day. We are humble working folks, and we are blessed to have everything we need, but if I could afford to purchase multiple bottles I would. I can't stress enough how unique and magnetic these perfumes are! Thank you Scents of Wood for these addictively gorgeous perfumes! There are going to be many more bottles in our future.

Starting with the packaging- this was an enjoyable experience to unbox the parfum. The box has a soft-matte-textured feel to it, and the wood insert panel makes it feel like you have received a one-of-a kind luxury fragrance. The bottle is elegant, with a nice texture. The atomizer is very nice, it has a long even and continuous spray that isn't too hard or too much. The cap is heavy and almost snaps into place. Overall, spraying this fragrance is an experience in and of itself.
Vetiver in Oak is such a pleasant and aromatic scent. The opening is a strong woody-vetiver-spicy scent that is fun and enjoyable to smell. The notes have a medium longevity, but after 5-6 hours the projection dies down a good bit and sits very close to the skin, hence why i called it "intimate." After the dry down, the oak shows itself more. Projection in general, even shortly after spraying is medium strength. As for sillage, the fragrance leaves a nice faint scent trail within the first few hours, that is not overpowering. However, after 2+ hours, there is minimal to no sillage. I would suggest re-applying the parfum after 3-5 hours of wear if you want to be more noticeable to those around you. I would recommend this scent to anyone who loves vetiver or woody/spicy fragrances. You definitely get what you pay for here, as the entire experience from unboxing to wearing the parfum is enjoyable and luxurious.

Sublime. Very invigorating, like you just took a deep FULL breath of air at the top of a mountain. There are incense notes in there, hence monastery vibes on the top of a mountain. This fragrance represents the element of Air to me. It's quite light & perfectly unisex. If you're very feminine, it can work, and if you're very masculine, it can work too. I'm in love. There's something in there that reminds me of Gin too.

My fiancé loved his Christmas gift. He can't get enough. He will most likely end up with the whole collection.
